Let me start with the new additions. My sister-in-law Chris is an artist and we are so blessed to have many of her pieces in our home. This is her latest one, done for our bedroom isn’t it gorgeous? Absolutely love it 😀 .
Saturday night was such a beautiful night for walking the dog. She gets so excited when we go for a walk, she has to check out absolutely everything even though she’s seen it all a million times before. Sunday we went for a 12 mile run, just an out and back at a casual pace. This is our last long run until the Rock CF half in couple of weeks. I didn’t get a picture on the run because when I took my phone out at the halfway point it was dead. Oops, forgot to charge it 🙁 . It was a beautiful sunny day and looked just like spring until we went outside. It was so cold! My face was so cold on the way back home because we were running into the wind. Come on heat wave!
It was the perfect day to snuggle up under a blanket and read a good book, one of my other favourite pastimes. If you’ve never read a Dean Karnazes book they’re a must if you’re a runner! Dean is an ultra runner and he writes about his experiences in an honest and entertaining way. He has done some really amazing races. I mean the stress he’s puts his body through is absolutely awe-inspiring. When I start to feel aches and pains during a run I try to think “this is nothing like running an ultra marathon”. Dean’s book “Run! 26.2 Stories of Blisters and Bliss” is the last one I’ve read. It’s a series of short stories, 26.2 to be exact, and it’s quite funny.
Besides running literature, I enjoy reading home decorating magazines and fiction as well. I’m more the happy ending kind of girl though. I don’t like scary so much. A little bit of suspense is ok but I have to admit, I do peek at the ending of those 😉 . Some of my favourite authors are Jodi Picoult, Liane Moriarty, Maeve Binchy and Nicholas Sparks (his books are on my e-reader). Once I find an author I like I will basically read everything they’ve ever written. Bryan is sometimes amazed at how quickly I can finish a book. When he has time to read, he’ll read a couple of chapters and then put it down for days, even weeks. Not me, I’m the type that can’t put it down! I think the love of reading is a real blessing. I love to be able to shut off my brain to any stress that may be happening in my life and just escape for a little while. It’s kind of the same feeling I get when I’m running. Coincidence? I think not! I’ve got some more time off this week so time to find another book!
I’m always looking for new authors, any suggestions?
Did you go for a run this weekend? How was it?

Absolutely gorgeous art work! Love it! No, I didn’t go for a run, but I did go to my exercise class and have done a lot of stuff with my kids over the March Break, so that has added up to extra movement for me. Cheers!
