Happy New Year from the Great White North!! It has been sooo cold here that it seriously takes me 10 minutes to get all of my running gear on!
We had a great Christmas, filled with great food…
(the above photo is “just a few appetizers” at my mother-in-laws), and family time.
Christmas Day was the first family meal we enjoyed in our newly renovated dining room (more on that in a later post) and it was great! I love Christmas, especially the lead up to Christmas. The excitement in the air, choosing just the right gift for someone, Christmas music everywhere you go, it’s truly my favourite holiday of the year. I always feel a little down once the day is over though 🙁 . Fortunately, this year my brother and sister-in-law were in town for a whole week so we were able to get in some extra family fun with a Game/Pizza day!
Grace loves any opportunity she can get to best her uncle at something! Those two have quite a rivalry. Eric and Katie taught us a new game called “Coup”. It’s a card game and you get to try and assassinate your friends. Let’s just say, this game was a hit!
We also enjoyed some New Year’s Eve gaming with some friends.
We take Jenga very seriously in our family 😉 .
We also played a kind of guessing game, grown-ups vs. kids…grown-ups lost 🙁 . All in all it was another great holiday. More memories to add to the memory bank for sure! Now it’s back to reality and that means picking up the slack in my running.
I heard about the Lululemon/Strava- 40/80 challenge and signed up for the 40k just to give myself that little bit of extra motivation! I only have 8k to go to hit my 40 and I’ll be bundling up for that tomorrow! Have a great weekend my friends!
