Happy 70th birthday to my amazing dad!! From my earliest memories the thing I’ve seen my dad do the most is laugh. It’s to the point now that he laughs so hard he cries!
He worked hard at his job but always had time for my brother and I or to help my mom around the house. In fact, family dinners were a nightly occurrence in our house. They weren’t optional, it’s just the way things were. We went on family vacations every year. Sometimes they were not very far away but we were together and that’s all that mattered. My dad has set a great example for me and my kids as well as my brother as he awaits becoming a father. Couldn’t ask for a better dad!
Here’s my dad in a nutshell:
1. Loves the Montreal Canadians, Green Bay Packers and the Detroit Tigers
2. Worked at Hiram Walkers for over 30 years
3. Taught us kids to laugh at ourselves (mostly through gentle teasing 😉 ).
4. Set a good example for being kind and fair to others, basically doing “the right thing”.
5. Never gives up. Over the years he’s had some medical challenges, some that the doctors can’t seem to pinpoint, but, by the grace of God, he bounces back. Sure the years have taken their toll, but given the challenges, he’s doing pretty well.
6. Loves his family very much and is loved very much in return!
